Hi, I have some footage shot on a Canon 6D. The problem is when I load it into Fusion it gets increased contrasts. How do I fix this? I've tried to add nodes for color space and gamut and also tried different settings for Source Color Space and Source Gamma Space when I import the clips but I still can't get it to look right.

I've attached a file comparing what the footage should look like and what it looks like in Fusion.

In what program are you viewing it the way it 'should look'?

I'm viewing it in Resolve and in Premiere, there it looks good. The problem is when I view it in Fusion I loose details in the shadows that I need. I've also tried to recover it with a color curve but the information is just not there any more. I guess it should be some setting in Import for the clip. I can't be the only one having this problem so its probably something obvious that I just don't know about.

Thats something with 'Quick Time Movies' decoder. Happens to some of files that videos looks different than in other software.
Installing ffmpeg and using it for decoding video files, solved my problem, having same view results as in resolve, premiere etc.

Glad you got it sorted. This sentence points to a misunderstanding about gamma, though. Misinterpreted gamma will not cause data loss. This sounds like a black level issue.

You're right Bryan. I'm not very familiar with color spaces and gamma and all that so thanks for pointing that out. Then it's a black level issue.
