newly installed font won't show up in text+

hi and thank you to all the people here kindly sharing their knowledge!

this is my first post here, so if my questions are a bit on the simple side, please be gentle

i'm quite new to davinci resolve, currently using version 15.2.2.007.

i recently installed a new font (secular one) in order to use in a new project i'm working on, but unfortunately when i add a text+ frame to the timeline and open the inspector tab, the new font doesn't appear on the font list.
when i tried to add a regular text frame instead, the new font did appear on the font list, so apparently the problem only occurs with text+.
unfortunately for this project i do need to use the text+ features, so i'm kind of at a loss here..
i tried restarting the program and the computer - didn't help.
tried to look for clues in the forums here but couldn't find any solution

can anyone help please?
