F16 - renders unrecognised format & VERY slow.

PostTue May 14, 2019 12:12 am

I just started my first project using F16. I'm trying to render to Quicktime "DnxrHD" 8bit files, but when I check the rendered file, Windows doesn't recognise it as a video file. Also, the renders are painfully slow and my workstation becomes unusable due to the cursor freezing intermittently. At one point the entire system froze and I could even open task manager.
QT Prores has same problem rendering - though the QT player will recognise a prores render.

And what happened to being able to render tif or tga sequences? There no longer seems to be that option?

I've checked preferences and nothing seems out of the ordinary. The comp opens and renders fine with Fusion Studio 9. Apart from having to learn the new layout / tool placement and other odd changes to GUI etc, F16 is pretty much unusable like this.

Does BMD have an email support centre for technical issues?

I'm using Windows 7Pro 64bit on an HP Z820/96Gb ram/Quadro P4000

Cheers

Just a blind shot, but have installed AVID's codec pack for Quicktime ?

If you use the Quicktime Player, you'll need those.
