Upgrading to Fusion Studio

PostThu May 23, 2019 10:19 pm

Hi,

I am considering upgrading to Fusion Studio and I am trying to figure out the most sensible way to do this.

It is my understanding that a license can be purchased as either an activation key or a dongle.

If I purchase a dongle for Fusion Studio 9, will I have to purchase another license when Fusion Studio 16 is released?

Thanks.

As of this moment, Fusion will only license with a hardware dongle. A dongle from any Blackmagic version of Fusion will authorize up through Beta 16, in addition to Resolve 15 and 16 beta.

A Resolve hardware dongle will authorize Fusion 16 Beta (but no versions of Fusion Studio earlier than 16).

At the moment, serial number licensing is only available for Resolve, but I expect that it will become available for Fusion at some point.

Thanks for clarifying.

When Fusion 16 is released out of beta will it continue to work with the dongle?

Thanks.
