I have a project that I balanced to a long term LUFS of -23.5 to get close to the loose cinematic standard of -24 for my premiere in a movie theater. Additionally, the true peak is -3db and the range is 14 LU.
I'm now planning to upload the video to youtube, which I understand has a limit of -14 LUFS. Does this mean if I leave the video as is, it will be very quiet on youtube? Or would youtube automatically raise the volume and normalize so it comes out to -14 LUFS? If not, should I crank the volume on my project to where it's -14 long term, or is there a better methodology? (One issue, my audio file is a single track (long story), so there's no room for subtle variance)
