BMD camera for apple What codec ?

PostTue Nov 12, 2024 5:36 am

Will it use Prores raw? Will it cause Apple to Permit prores encoding and maybe prores raw in Davinci?

I don't use Prores but I'm sure this will make many users happy.

It’ll never do ProRes RAW. But you can have ProRes or BRAW, which is supported in FCP-X with the additional BRAW Toolkit.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Unfortunately, that's still speculation. I'd never base any investment decision on it.
But BRAW Toolkit works really well in FCP-X, and I don't doubt Chris will update it, if it doesn't in 11.
Unfortunately, Version 11 is forcing us into Sequoia, and there I'm still hesitant…
