Duplicate render paths

PostMon Mar 25, 2024 1:22 pm

For whatever reason i always get the messages/errors that no one on the internet has gotten ever (Or so it seems). I keep getting a message with "Duplicate render paths" and the description says "Please enter unique sub-folder names for each additional output in the render settings".

Regardless of how i word it, i cannot find any articles related to this on google, nor youtube. I change the path to where the video is going, i change the name of the file and nothing works. It is with specific render settings that i am choosing, so as soon as i change the format from MKV to Quicktime, or something else, it works.

I am not sure what i am doing wrong. Please help and sorry if there was another article about this already. I just couldnt find it.

I would refer to the user manual as all info regarding your issue is in the Deliver Page section.

MKV is not really a standardised wrapper, I'd resort to .MXF or .MOV. (or even MP4, although more limited).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

I stumbled on the same issue. No matter what file name and output directory I set, I end up with notice Duplicate Render Path and cannot add settings to Render Queue.

Documentation does not help. Terms does not even show up there.

I use DR 18.6.4 BUILD 6.

I managed to bypass issue by changing format form mov to mp4.

I just stumbled on the same problem . I'm just trying to deliver a video that i previously delivered as an MP4 for the web . This is actually a new timeline of the same piece (just changed the gamma) with a different name and i want to export it full quality as a quicktime video Pro res 422 HQ 4K . I'm not setting the siufix , just choosing Quicktime instead of mp4. It seems to me I've done this many times. Changing the name doesn't matter . I haven't check the manual because it seems others above have.

Solved I guess. I found another post on the forum for the same issue on a PC (I'm on mac) . And it said just duplicate the program and try it again ( i.e. rinse and repeat). Well that worked- same settings , same everything . Beats me but I'm happy!

Damn! The "Duplicate Render Paths Please enter unique sub-folder names for each
additional output in the render settings" error is back and nothing I do is working . I need to output a ProRes 422 HQ copy of my file . Resolve will let me export it as an mp4 but not as a ProRes .

Last time I just changed the name of my file and it was fine but no such luck now. I've tried changing the names of the files, copying the project, changing the export locations, changing the cache render location , restarting the computer , creating an additional output, asking on the web and scouring the manual . Can't find anything .

One thing I haven't tried- where do I change where my render files are going?

Help

In the meantime i need to export the highest quality copy I can of a 4K video that was composed of 4K clips shot by a still photographer. She wants to pull stills from it . If I can't give her Pro res, what's the next best outpuit file type i could try . i thin its only proRes and Quicktime that aren't working . She's on a Mac

On the very first page of the Deliver screen, you'll see a File Name, then a field for Location. Click the BROWSE button and select the drive you want (preferably an external drive with enough space for your copy).

This is very much Resolve 101 stuff, all covered in the manual and the basic training.

I just posted this on the other thread (Resolve) but figured I'd put it here also just have a clean resolution to both .

Well I am absolutely mystified but it works Ok today .
Doesn't make a lot of sense other than the demons of the night.
Last night I tried everything including shutting down and restarting the computer twice. I tried exporting to 4 different drives including the internal. Went to bed at 3AM disgusted.
The one thing I didn't do though was turn the Raid on and off.

Went to a matinee of Sinners (recommended) today then returned to face the music . I had a number of new ideas to try . Open a new project and copy the clips from the old timeline into a new one etc.
However - first after turning on the computer I turned the Raid on and off just on what the hell hunch .
Well it works - outputs to ProRes fine .

2 variables - leaving the computer off for half a day / or turning the Raid on and off. I imagine the Raid reset something . Does that make any sense to you guys?
