We have a new Hyperdeck Shuttle with latest V3.7 firmware updated. It works fine in HD - Rec from any HD SDI signals and PB to other HD VTR and MacPro FCP with Blackmagic ExtremeHD.
However, in 625/25 SD mode and connect it to a Sony DVW-A500P Digital Betacam, HyperDeck Shuttle can record the video and audio from the Sony VTR thru SD SDI. And it playback to MacPro and both video and audio can be captured. However, when it playbacks to the Sony DVW-A500P thru SD SDI, the embedded audio is not recognized and no sound, video is fine. But the Sony VTR has been used for years with MacPro, Flame for years without any problem in audio and video. We do verify it again with Mac and Flame, the Sony is okay.
It seems that there is some compatibility problem or protocol problem in SD SDI embedded audio output from Hyperdeck Shuttle.
Is anybody here have same or similar experience or can verify this situation for us?
We wrote to Blackmagic dozen of emails to support, but we never get any responses so far for months.
We would like to use the Hyperdeck Shuttle to be a dubbing master while all MacPro are occupied, and we still working in SD in most.
