Resolve only sees one GPU

PostThu Mar 21, 2013 4:07 pm

I am using Resolve 9.1.1 (BMCC licensed copy) on Mac OSX 10.8.3 with current Cuda drivers.

I am using three GTX cards (640, 660 and 670), and Intensity Pro for preview along with HD4000. THe HD4000 drives both my monitors for the desktop, I then use the Intensity Pro as a preview when I am in Resolve. The three GTX cards are all free and are seen by OSX, no issue. When I go into Resolve, it will only list the 670, only once has it listed the 660 but no matter what, only one card shows.

Use windows/linux?

i think I read somewhere that there is a limitation in the number of GPu cards you can use/see in Mac.

Send your Mac System Profile .spx file, and a Resolve CaptureLogs .tgz file to davincihelp (AT) blackmagicdesign (DOT) com and we can take a look to try and determine what's going on. Please reference this thread in the email so we know what it relates to.

For the .tgz file, open a Finder window, and navigate to the /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve folder and double click CaptureLogs. That will place a DaVinci-Resolve-logs-xxx-xxx.tgz file on your desktop.

For the .spx file, click on the Apple icon in the upper left of the display and select "About This Mac". Then click on More Info and then System Report. In the System Information menus at the top of the display, select the File menu, then Save.

I'm not sure why the cards aren't showing up, I'm sure Dwaine will help you there. But just so you know, when you use multiple cards, of different capabilities, the cards perform as a set, at the level of the slowest cards. In this case if all three cards worked it would be as if you had three gtx640s. Which wouldn't be very good. I suspect the one 670 is probably faster than three 640s!
