Hardware Request

PostThu Sep 17, 2020 7:11 pm

It's Time, Blackmagic. It's Time.

You've given us some great control surfaces for Resolve and color correction. Your live switchers are terrific. Playback deck are superb. Resolve keyboard is a bit pricey, but a cool device. But there's a critical missing element to this chain-- and you need to produce one soon.

An audio mixing control surface.

We need an 8-channel strip control surface with plug-in control with saved recalls, panning, dynamics, levels, and EQ. It needs to be USB-C, and it should integrate IP networking. It needs to interface in the same way the camera control unit and switchers do, which is to say, it needs to work with live production switchers and post-production in Resolve.

Make Fairlight a real module. Give it a control surface we all need and want.

Thank You.

I would agree with that. It's a piece of equipment I am missing and because of that I am feeling it might be better to go out to ProTools, and deal with the round trip issues, rather than stay in Fairlight.

Wow, while I don't have any need for this level of complexity in my projects, I must say, that console looks beautiful and will be welcome to those who need it. I have a request also, if you'd make it for me I'd appreciate it because you either have a direct line to the powers that be, or are very lucky. Please, please, please BMD, how about a ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K ISO? Yes, this would be the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K with the benefits of the ATEM Mini Pro ISO allowing me to record 4 tracks of 4K to a drive with a finished project.

C'mon, Grant, you know we'll buy it! If given the opportunity, I'll be first!

Any update on when the new console is shipping? They said December, but there must be a production delay (duh!) because it's April.
