DVR editing workspace

PostTue Oct 04, 2022 8:56 pm

My apologies if this question is beneath the pro DVR level users but I would really like to know.

I was looking into making YouTube shorts and would like to know how to setup the DVR workspace format the same as when making regular videos. Such specifics as having the double screen for editing. I know how to set the framing aspect ratios for YT shorts, but how can I get the editing structure as if it were for regular video editing?

No need to apologise for asking a question. Forum users are here to share experience and help if they can.

By double screen do you mean two viewer windows or two actual screens?
For vertical video open Project Settings and in the top Timeline Resolution scroll the box up to the top entry which is Custom, and change the resolution to the resolution of your clips. In this example I have changed the HD resolution to 1080x1920. Select your frame rate and click save.

On a single or dual screens click this icon to display single or dual viewers.

In this dual screen view I have a standard 1920x1080 video dropped into the timeline and then made to fit by using the Zoom and Position controls in the Inspector window.

Here is a single screen view with dual viewers. It shows the timeline and a vertical phone video in the source viewer.
