How to setup ICON Platform M+ on DaVinci Resolve

PostTue Sep 19, 2023 12:39 am

Hello!
I just got a Icon Plataform M+ and my idea was use it with DaVinci Resolve, especially with Fairlight, in order to create automations, better fader control etc...
But I didn't found anywhere any type of instruction about how to actually setup-it this equipment with the software.

And don't know if it change something, but I use a MacBook Pro 14'.

Does anybody can help me?
Tnks! ;)

Third party control surfaces may be configured in Resolve's Preferences:
Preferences > System > Control Panels > Audio Console

Enable the "Use MIDI audio console" preference and then select the controller in the drop-down menu.

While Resolve supports both MCU and HUI, the Icon uses Mackie Control for most DAWs and HUI for ProTools.

The Resolve 18.5 Manual outlines the functionality available with 3rd party controllers:

⟦ Mac Pro 7,1 Rack ⊕ 16-core 3.2GHz ⊕ 32GB RAM ⊕ Radeon 580X • Resolve Studio 18.6 • macOS 12.7 ⟧
⟦ Fairlight Studio Console (DAE-3 Bay) • Fairlight Audio Accelerator • Intensity Pro 4K ⊕ Desktop Video 12.7 ⟧

Ahh Ok.

Now, I learned how to connect the controller in DaVinci, but I still have some doubts about how to map the iCon Platform M+ in their app (Platform M+ iMap) to use in DaVinci Resolve Fairlight.

For exemple, I did not understand how to map the Jog wheel to control the timeline orange line (I forgot the name rs); how to link the "MIXER" button in the controller to Open and Close the Mixer view on fairlight, how to link the Zoom controllers, vertical and horizontal...

I did not found this information anywhere. There is only tutorial to how to use the presets from the most famous DAWs (Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reaper, etc...)

Do you have any ideia?
