Decklink 8K Pro - too many cards

PostTue Oct 03, 2023 7:57 pm

I am setting up my new windows system for virtual production and I have two physical cards in the machine. When I open up the Desktop Video Setup and start scrolling through the cards I have the following show up:

Decklink 8K Pro (1), Decklink 8K Pro (2), Decklink 8K Pro (3), Decklink 8K Pro (4), Decklink 8K Pro (1), Decklink 8K Pro (2), Decklink 8K Pro (3), Decklink 8K Pro (4)

I was only expecting to see Decklink 8K Pro (1), Decklink 8K Pro (2)

I am a windows idiot so I am looking to see what I did wrong here.

Bumping this to see if anyone has any answers. I did look under devices and saw a bunch of them listed. Is it as simple as just deleting all but two of the devices listed?

Hello Justin,

Each Decklink 8k Pro has 4 SDI ports. And you can see each port separately in the Desktop Video Setup as an independent sub device, In order to be able to change/configure the settings of each port separately.
You can also change the name of each port as desired.

Here is what I am seeing in both the Desktop Video Setup and my devices under Windows 11. I only expected to see two devices under the Desktop Video Setup. I think. That's why I am a bit confused.

Mitra gave you the answer. Each port can be configured independently. The multi IO cards have always worked this way.

Good Luck
