Windows Security Updates

Hi all. Quick question about a Windows 7 Resolve system.

I have read that Resolve is certified and tested for Windows 7 SP1. I believe I read not to install any new Service Packs (when they are released) to the system unless Blackmagic approves them.

What about security updates. For now I have the system not installing security updates. I would feel better if I could install any new security updates. Does Blackmagic (or any other users) test Resolve with any of the security updates?

Also what about letting Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials run for system security? I know you can tell it to not scan certain folders or applications.

Would that cause problems?

thanks,
Peter

Just wanted to check on this again.

Can anyone confirm if it's ok to install any of the Windows security updates? Has anyone done this or can confirm if this is ok or if it will cause big problems with Resolve.

thanks!
Peter

Thanks for the feedback Jonathon. Do you have your system set to automatically install updates or do you just do manual updates from time to time?

That is good to hear. I was hoping I would be able to apply the Windows security updates without causing any problems for Resolve.
