VA 3.0.3 Update: any good for VA 4k ?

PostThu Feb 13, 2020 9:11 am

Will 3.0.3 bring anything to my VA 4K (currently on 2.5.3) ?
Or is 2.5.X just the last useful update for this 'old' device (and 3.X is just for newer devices) ?

It clearly states that it is only for the 5 and 7"12G models.. So guess not.. ;)

So I decided anyway to install 3.1
No firmware was uploaded to the VA4K....
Video Assist Setup reports 'Device setting'...'Software version: 3.1'
But on the device itself I still see 'Software / Video Assist 4K 2.5.3

I assume the desktop version has been updated and determined that no firmware update is available for the connected device, is that correct ?

That's right, that's the way it works. I did the same for my old 5" HD Video Assist. The software recognized it but didn't install any updates since there were no updates applicable for that monitor.
