Having said that, AMD hackintoshing is even too fringe for someone like me at the moment. On paper it should technically work, but reading various Discord threads makes me somewhat hesitant to jump on that bandwagon anytime soon.
There is a rumor that Apple has been exploring moving toward AMD CPU's for some of their machines (perhaps MacMini and iMac refresh?), but it's a long shot that we'll see Apple AMD support this year (if they were really further along we'd probably have seen AMD CPU's in the Mac Pros topping out at 64-core machines).
If you're planning on running in Windows or Linux mostly, and you want to try out how OSX fares on it, I suppose there's nothing wrong with having dual-boot option. In which case everything you need to know is available through those links above!
