I tried 11.6 and found the same problem as with version 11.5 that I covered in my previous reply on Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:51 am, though otherwise it's working fine.
But I would suggest that you install the 4K Mini card into a different system and see if it works there with 11.6. If not then you have a defective card.
Secondly, when you install a driver package going from v11.4 to 11.5 or 11.6, on the first reboot there should be a popup that updates the firmware of the card and then there's a system shutdown & reboot. It should then work after this firmware update with the currently installed driver package.
Does that happen with yours, when you install the updated drivers does it do the firmware update?
If not, then the card WOULD be detected by Windows and then ignored by Desktop Video, just as you are seeing (I'm making an assumption here that the newer drivers need the updated firmware to function properly, it just makes sense given the feature updates each new driver package brings to the table so I think it's a safe assumption to make).
If the firmware update is being prevented or interrupted (say, by antivirus or possibly some BIOS setting), then swapping the card into another computer would allow the update to happen and it would then work in the original computer with that particular driver package revision.
But a flakey/defective card, or an interrupted firmware update would seem to be the most likely cause of the problems you are experiencing (though not the only cause, just the most likely). Now a flakey card COULD cause the firmware update to fail, meaning it'll only function with the older driver package from the last successful firmware update, FWIW.
Lastly, is there an actual need for the updated driver package, or does 11.4 work fine on your system? If it's working fine and you don't NEED the updated features, there's an argument then to not worry about updating just for the sake of updating!
I'm interested to hear what you find out!
