SDI to mini converter to audio - Beep Beep

PostTue Mar 03, 2020 1:38 pm

Hi,

I use the ultra studio 4k to output the audio from SDI (with a mini converter). But I can hear a high note in the analog audio (a regular beep very low). Does someone experiment the same "issue" ?

I have the same issue since last week. I'm afraid the beep comes from the hardware. It does not come through the audio system.

Hello,

Indeed, I think it comes from BM card.

I get a similar low volume hi pitched pulse sound through my computer-connected speakers but I'm using a BM Ultrastudio 4K mini.

It seems to be somehow related to the HDMI (I have an LG OLED TV connected to it [OLDED48CXPUB]. The TV is powered off but I guess it's still in 'standby mode'). It seems as if the BM Ultrastudio 4K mini breakout box is somehow receiving this pulsing beep from the LG OLED TV.

Here are the things that I've discovered, so far, which makes the beep go away:

(1) I unplug the Thunderbolt4 cable from my BM Ultrastudio 4K mini breakout box.
or
(2) I unplug the HDMI cable from my BM Ultrastudio 4K mini breakout box.
or
(3) I unplug the HDMI cable from my LG OLED TV
or
(4) I disconnect the LG OLED TV's power cable from the wall.

It certainly is distracting and annoying. I use my LG OLED TV as a reference monitor while I'm color-grading with Davinci Resolve. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a setting within the Blackmagic universe that will allow me to filter out this annoying sound.
