BMPCC OFF SPEED FRAME RATE Capture Dilemma

PostMon Mar 16, 2020 3:03 pm

I think we messed up in shooting. I have a .braw clip that is visually shorter than the audio attached to it.
The Audio is 2:37:20 and the video is 2:33:05 in length-- as in the last 4ish seconds of video show the Media offline graphic.

After inspecting the camera after the shoot. My theory is the HFR button got pushed and the PROJECT FRAME RATE was set to 23.98 and the OFF SPEED FRAME RATE was set to 24.

This, I believe, has resulted in a clip that is visually shorter than the attached audio.

Can anyone confirm this? And/or offer and suggestions for solutions?

Thanks!

While shooting in HFR can lose sync, the difference is far too long for 23.98 vs 24 fps.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Does the metadata reveal the truth?

The difference in playback is 24fps vs. ~24.6fps.

The number does not lend itself to any obvious mismatch. I initially guessed 25/24 but that would be a difference of ~7 seconds for the given time.

This clip is the exception or the rule?

Good Luck
