Issue with 960x720 res

PostTue Aug 20, 2013 9:37 pm

Hi,

I have to grade some DVCPRO HD 720p50 960x720 footage using DaVinci.
Am I right to say this codec is not supported by the software?
http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/media/2 ... c_list.pdf

In the MEDIA window the clips show up as 1280x720 with pillarbox  (see attachment for reference).

I tried to play around with Select Aspect Ratio from View but I had no happy results...

The project comes from FCP7.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I could tackle the problem?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

After fiddling around a bit I found something which seems to work good for me:

1.) Import the xml from FCP 7. In the import dialog change the timeline resolution to 1280x720 (which is the proper ratio for square pixels.)

2.) Select the clips in the Media Room and right click on "Clip Attributes" and change the Pixel Aspect Ratio to "DVCProHD"

This worked for me.
