Hello,

I'm grading on rec709 full range grading monitor and would like to convert final product to srgb or rgb color space in order to see it on pc gamma 2.2. Right now blacks on the final footage (graded) when watched on on srgb color calibrated monitor are crushed. Dark scenes are too dark. What is the best way to do the conversion? Is there any kind of lut which I can apply to the graded project?

Thank you,
Leon

I start with assuming that you viewing environment is setup as for teh BT1886 specification, so rec709 primaries/white point and a gamma of 2.4.

The easiest and somewhat good approximation is to assume the gamma to be truly exponential, then you need to do a 2.2/2.4 gamma adjustment --> 0.91666666

However, if your export looks too "crushed" it is probably a scaling issue [video level/full range]
