UltraStudio Mini Monitor - "Out of Range"

PostSat Jun 06, 2020 5:16 pm

I'm running an UltraStudio Mini Monitor to run video out of Pro Tools into a monitor in another room. Regardless of the video settings in Pro Tools or in BlackMagic Desktop Video Setup, all my monitor shows is "Out of Range."

This is the monitor I'm using: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... _care.html

The video in Pro Tools is 1920x1080, which the monitor supports. The monitor has a refresh rate of 75Hz, but I can't find anywhere in PT or in BlackMagic Desktop Video to change the refresh rate being output.

I have successfully sent video out of my Mini Monitor into two different TVs with no problems at all. I have tried the new Asus monitor with a laptop output and a PS3 and it works fine. I've tried different HDMI cables, short and long with the Mini Monitor and Asus monitor.

I've attached a status report on the Mini Monitor.

What am I doing wrong here?

Well the mini monitor does only support frame rates up to 30 @1080p and your display appears to only go as low as 48.
So I guess you will only be able to output 720 material and frame rates of 50, 59.98 and 60 but I’m not sure your display can manage 720 inputs.

Mini monitor output:
HDMI (10-Bit 4:4:4/4:2:2/4:2:0)
720p: 50/59.94/60 fps
1080p: 23.98/24/25/29.97/30 fps
1080PsF: 23.98/24/25/29.97/30 fps
1080i: 50/59.94/60 fps SDI (8/10-Bit 4:2:2 YUV) NTSC: 59.94 fps PAL: 50 fps
Grew up with a Nikon FM - Evolving with a BMMCC
Resolve Studio 16.2.2 - Fusion Studio 16.2.22
Mac mini & MBP 16GB - PowerColor Vega 56 8GB
