Local decklink with Teradici AWS remote workstation?

PostWed Jul 15, 2020 5:00 pm

Hi
Are there any solutions that allow a local IO card to be used with a remote workstation?
I am using an Amazon remote workstation via Teradici.
My local keyboard monitor and wacom all work.
Premiere and After effects are on the remote workstation.
Is there any way to use my local Decklink 4KExtreme 12g?

If not what options are there for this?
Can this only be done in resolve via remote grading?

Hi Tris,

You could give Sienna's "SiennaLink Remote Monitor" a shot: http://www.sienna-tv.com/ndi/remotemonitor.html. It's a low latency, full raster remote viewing solution that is design to stream preview image from a remote workstation (i.e. cloud) to your local machine. The client is free.
You can add the "NDI Outlet" (http://www.sienna-tv.com/ndi/ndi-outlet.html) to allow for decoding of the stream into NDI and back out to SDI via Decklink. There might be free software to do the latter, but the Sienna tools work great in my experience.

Cheers
Michael

Thanks that looks like the solution. Just need to talk some folks into using it now!

Hey, curious about your Teradici experience... I'm starting to work at a firm that is requiring me to edit in the cloud using Teradici, rather than a traditional local setup. It sounds awful to me. What has your experience been like?

Would very much appreciate your input as I know no one who works this way.

Thanks!
