Live Gameplay Streaming

PostMon Aug 26, 2013 10:07 am

Sorry for the beginner question. I have a Decklink 4k. I am trying to stream and play live xbox360 gameplay on the pc desktop. What software and settings do I need for this?
I have tried the Stereoscopic Player live video function 'Black Magic WDM capture' and 'decklink video capture'.

Thanks

Just checking. Can you actually SEE the video using the Media Express software (that's from Blackmagic and is installed with the Decklink card when you set that up)? If you can't see the video using that... you won't have any hope of streaming it with anything.

Also you didn't mention anything about configuring the settings in the Blackmagic Design Control Panel. You have to do that before you can use the video in any other capture or streaming software (the card does not Auto-sense the input video format).

You need to make sure the capture software is setting your Decklink to the same resolution and frequency as the XBOX360 is sending through the HDMI or Component cable.

If it's 1920x1080 @ 60p, you should set your Decklink to the same, in the capture software.

Same goes for any other resolution and frequency, and whether it's interlaced or progressive - the values need to match between the two devices.

To be clear, the xbox at 60p is actually 59.97. You will only get a black screen if you set your BM for 60p.
