Duel Graphics Card Question for BMCC Raw

Hey guys,
Unfortunately the two macs I own will not open the Blackmagic RAW without crashing. I've managed to do some tests with a moderatly new MacPro with the 8 core Xenon and ATI 5xxx something processor and it is painfully slow, rendering at 1.5fps

So I'm building a hackintosh. The graphics card I chose is the EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2048MB and I was wondering what kind of performance I should expect and if anyone has any experience with this card? Processor is i5 3.4ghz 4 core intel.

My second question is about installing a second gpu for the GUI. I have an old ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro 256mb sitting around. Will I be able to use this in conjunction with the geforce and if so how?

HI, please refer to the config guides at the top of this post section. It lists the minimum we recommend and from your description the GPUs and maybe even the system overall does not see viable.

Even running just a single GTX670 performs well.

I'd go for a GTX670/680 as they are good performers and the price has dropped a bit since the GTX780 are shipping.

I'm looking at two 660 ti actually. SLI for 4GB and 2688 cuda. $380 for both. I think that's the best performance to price ratio you're going to find right now!!

No. Please refer to the config guides. SLI is not discussed for good reason. Resolves GPUs are not managed by SLI.

From my understanding, Resolve wouldn't be able to address them as 2 GPUs, but in SLI they should still be addressable as a single GPU? no?

Well I know on my system which is in SLI mode if you have one of the cards set to be dedicated to PhysX then only 1 shows up in Resolve, if you set the CPU to be used for the PhysX then both cards show up in Resolve and it uses one of them for the Gui. From what I can find Cuda cores are not 'stackable' so combining 2 cards in SLI mode doesn't give you access to double the Cuda cores. The software has to be written to access the cores from 2 cards separately

that's sh*tty. I guess I'm going to have to think about my upgrade some more.

I'm fairly certain the adobe mercury engine is capable of using cuda in an sli configuraiton.

Again, I hope this is added to Resolve 10. Not everyone has $1000 + for video cards...

But from what I've read it's nothing to do with SLI, From what I've read Cuda cores don't stack in SLI mode although it does seem to depend on where you are reading as some say it does and some say it doesn't. If that is the case then it's down to nVidia

Don't go for the 650, the 660 is a better deal. Just 30-40$ more but a lot more performance according to some benchmarks
