Ultrastudio Express as I/O device for Mimolive

Hi all,

I'm using the Ultrastudio Express as a capture device between my ATEM Prodution 4K and my macbook pro running Mimolive as a video switcher and streaming encoder to Facebook.

I was wondering if it's possible to have the ATEM's final mix come in from the Ultrastudio's SDI input, and then Mimolive's Program mix (with graphics) through the Ultrastudio's SDI to an external monitor?

What I'm getting now is the SDI output mirroring the SDI input when I activate Ultrastudio as a video source in Mimolive. If I select another video source in Mimolive (eg facetime camera), the ultrastudio gets the Mimolive Program output.

Thanks!

I don't think that device is full duplex. Newer models usually are.

Ok thanks for clarifying. I realized once you mentioned full duplex this question has been addressed a few times on the forum.

Would the ultrastudio as a video output help reduce the GPU load on the Mac, compared to outputting to an external monitor via the thunderbolt 3 ports?

No, they're not accelerators.
