Unexpected change in grade?

PostThu Aug 29, 2013 11:40 am

This is the grade that came up when I opened up Resolve 9.1.6. It is way off from the thumbnail which I had just output the night before. I played around to see what the problem might be and I noticed when I changed the color space fro Davinci YRGB to ACES then everything looked fine but now I am seemingly stuck in using ACES. Which might be ok but is not what I was using before the incident. So I guess my question is in addition to to what happened, is it Ok to keep grading in ACES even though I am monitoring in REC 709 and will output in 709?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Of course it is probably something I did wrong I just don't know what. I have also included the project settings page.

Thanks

Dimitrios

why you changed in the first place?

If you did not load the images coherently in ACES, the grade will be "difficult" but doable, at this point just stay coherent and finish in ACES.

Hi Walter.

Actually I was in YRGB from the beginning and then something changed, now the only way I could get it to look right was by switching to ACES.

Stay in ACES and finish in ACES... at one point you flip the switch and you are kinda of stuck at this point...
