FCPX: Importing directly via Intensity Pro?

PostWed Sep 04, 2013 4:41 am

hi all.

OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4
FCPX 10.0.9
Intensity Pro
Mac Pro (2008)

Media Express 3.2 can see the Intensity Pro,
and it can see the incoming video:
S-Video + Left/Right RCA Audio

QuickTime cannot see the video input from the card.
FCPX cannot see the card.

the Intensity Pro Supported Apps page includes FCPX.

can anyone tell me how I can get FCPX to recognise the Intensity Pro card and import directly from it?

cheers,
Gregory

FCPX: Importing directly via Intensity Pro?

I don't believe FCPX supports log and capture via a any video card.

Its only able to import file based content and works with the built in iSight camera.

I might be wrong tho.

Use media express and just drag and drop the file into fcpx.

thank you both.

I'm importing PAL format videos from a Mini-DV camera. of the available encoders, which would you consider to be the better one for importing into FCPX?

QT Uncompressed 8-bit YUV
QT Uncompressed 10-bit YUV
QT DVCPRO 50
QT Apple ProRes 422
QT Apple ProRes 422 HQ
QT Apple ProRes 422 LT
QT Apple ProRes 4444
DPX 10-bit RGB

cheers,

QT DVCPRO 50
QT Apple ProRes 422
QT Apple ProRes 422 LT

For mini-DV any thing more than those 3 would be overkill.
