Blackmagic intensity shuttle usb3 & Mac Pro

PostThu Sep 05, 2013 9:39 am

Hi everybody,
I use to work on avid media composer with a Mac Pro and I should be interested to work with a Blackmagic intensity shuttle USB3 on it. I know it's possible to add a usb3 card in my Mac Pro but I don't know if it's work with an Intensity shuttle usb3 ? I know that blackmagic had just developped a driver for this video card and it's work with Mac book pro and Mac mini. So if it's work I would know wich usb3 card is the best for this using ?

Thank you for your answer.

It could work. I can't say that it will.

Caveat Emptor on USB 3.0 cards for the Mac Pro. Most of them only recognize hard drives. I have a Highpoint RocketU Quad USB 3.0 card and while it does recognize hard drives, it does not recognize any other USB 3.0 devices (not even card readers).

The New Mac Pro (the one that looks like a giant black Jolly Rancher candy) has USB 3.0 along with Thunderbolt 2.0 built-in (finally!).
