Hi All,
I know they're an old product but we just need these monitors to work for general monitoring of our in-room PTZs to ensure they're operational. Anyways, the PTZs put out SDI 3G A, which I know used to not be supported, but as of 4.0.3 they should be supported. I have plugged in a USB, installed 4.0.5, and according to the software it is running 4.0.5, however at no point did I see the monitors actually update firmware themselves so that seems a bit odd (unless the firmware could literally update without any user interaction and happens within seconds?). So I'm guessing the "software" I installed is that update but the firmware itself is not, anyway to force another firmware update on these monitors?
And using a decimator to test I can confirm it's a SDI A/B issue, as when I convert the SDI A to B it shows up fine (but we have 4 monitors and 4 PTZ cameras so we need the firmware to working properly).
So just double-checking, how exactly is the firmware updated on the SmartScopes? Just by plugging in via USB and installing the desktop software? Usually with the other products like the Videohubs you have to "push" the firmware to the device. I'm hoping I'm just missing an option, but the software itself is pretty bare-bones so I'm not sure where it could be hiding.
