Audio lag after twice through H.264 Pro Recorder

Here is my current setup: We have 5 cameras and several computer inputs into a Sony switcher at our church. The switcher program output passes through the H.264 Pro Recorder and then to livestream, which is what we do most of the time with no issues. Occasionally we have to pre-record the sermon for playback later, so instead of sending it to livestream, I use Media Express to record the sermon ahead of time. We then load the pre-recorded sermon into Pro Presenter to integrate into the live service on a Sunday morning.

The problem comes when we send the recorded sermon via Pro Presenter through the video switcher and back through the H.264 to livestream. (This video is essentially running through the H.264 twice.) We get an audio lag that is very noticeable and remains constant throughout the recording. The ProPresenter feed is also sent to the house projectors, as well as a local cable channel, and the audio sync is perfect on those so it looks like it has something to do with running the recorded video through the H.264? Is there a fix for that or do I need a different workflow?

Thanks
Mark

Are you sending it through the pro recorder with a live in and out feed? The delay sounds like it is probably because the pro recorder is processing the footage...into h.264, while the audio isn't being processed. Sounds like you need a passthrough output on the prorecorder to avoid the video being processed. (i don' know the equipment, but running any footage through any kind of processor is going to cause a delay)
