Didn't watch it all, and hate to say it, but with a few exceptions, he has some valid points. There are many small irritations and unexpected behaviors. Extra clicks, repositioning, etc. Every time you have to get off the keyboard to reach for the mouse to fix or redo something, it impedes the flow. If only the resources that went into the Cut page had been directed to Edit instead....

The cut page is a different workflow for those who need it. I use it often.

Yeah, but in the end, BMD wouldn't lose any editors for lack of a Cut page. It does lose editors who look at the Edit page and end up cutting the program elsewhere, because of these small but significant omissions.

Well, I did watch it. I agree with John about putting more effort in the Edit page and fixing those annoyances mentioned in the videos. IMO, the time and effort BMD had put on the Cut page could have been better used in enhancing the Editing page to make it up to par with Avid and Premier Pro. I think the Cut page was added for broadcast users. It does not help me. I tried it once and never went back to it coz it was a big waste of time. I'm always in the Edit or Color page, sometime in Fairlight or Fusion. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I watched as well. Also his 22-minute piece re: Speed Editing, which also had useful bits of knowledge for me, well done, Casey. And whilst I have yet to beat my head against DR (still awaiting the video card for the build), I do have two decades of Vegas under my belt. Hence, suspect I too will have my own list of, 'what were they thinking?' of my own to add. Interesting thread. I wonder this; does 17 sort any of these issues?

I also didn't finish watching, but I did Comment on the YouTube video.
His problems are with his work flow. Some changes there would make the issues (I saw) go away.
