Clone exFAT Raid0 to HFS+ RAID0 w/ Mac Disk Utility Restore

PostSat Oct 31, 2020 11:11 am

I want to use Mac's Disk Utility's "Restore" function to clone one external drive to another external drive.
Both drives are the same hardware: Lacie 2big RAID 8TB formatted as RAID0.
The one I want to be cloned – the "original" drive – is formatted as exFAT and the new one – the "target" drive – is formatted as HFS+ (Mac OS Extended Journaled).

Some questions here:

1. Does this even work with RAID0?
2. Does the "Restore" function only work, when the "original" drive is also HFS+ as my "target" drive is HFS+?
3. Does the "Restore" function format my "target" drive to exFAT, because my "original" drive is formatted exFAT?

Thanks in advance!
