color issues with Blackmagic Design SmartView HD

I am considering buying the Blackmagic Design SmartView HD as a field monitor and as a third screen while editing, I read some old posts about it and found out people we're complaining about the inaccuracy of the colours and the lack of software to fix this somewhat. These postst are over a year old, so I was wondering if anything changed for the good?
