OSX: Can't access color metadata in Premiere with BRAW
Hi Blackmagic team,
I am having an issue accessing color metadata inside of premiere, and after searching all forum posts, troubleshooting myself for 2 days, and downloading every possible combination of Premiere Pro and Blackmagic RAW plugin, I think It's time to ask for professional help inside of the company.
To be brief:
I started editing a project in Premiere 14.4, and Blackmagic RAW 1.5. Premiere started crashing frequently, so I decided to upgrade to the newest premiere (14.5) and the newest Blackmagic RAW 2.0 Beta 3. That made things much worse, and I couldn't even see any of my blackmagic footage after that.
This is where the problem started.
For the next 2 days I've been downloading different versions of Blackmagic RAW (1.9, 1.8, 1.7, etc.) and I can't get access my color metadata now. The boxes are all just locked / greyed out. Nothing is selectable anymore.
I also tried different versions of premiere and ended up just going back to Premiere 14.4.
Currently, I'm using Blackmagic RAW 10.6, and Premiere 14.4, and It seems to be stable, but I still can't access any of the clips color data.
I've tried deleting all the premiere Media Caches, I've tried "Making the clips offline" and reconnecting them several times, rebooted my computer dozens of times, and I just feel completely stuck now.
Strangely, If I re-import the same blackmagic clips into the timeline, I can edit the metadata in most circumstances. However, the exact same clips that are already edited in the timeline still won't allow me to edit the metadata. (I thought maybe if I edit the exact same clips metadata in the exact same project timeline the color settings would carry over, but that doesn't seem to be the case.)
I can't re-edit the entire project by inserting all the black magic clips again because the project is too large / complicated. (it would take another week of time).
I desperately need to get this project exported and I don't know what else to do. The color metadata is very important to me and one of the main selling points on purchasing the blackmagic, and at this point, I don't know what my workflow will even be going forward.
Is there any combination of BRAW and Premiere that is known to fix this issue? Is this an issue you've seen before?
I've attached all my computer and project settings for your reference. Thank you so much for your help and support,
-David
