eGPU won't connect unless I reboot
Hi, I recently updated my Mac Book Pro to Catalina 10.15.7 (19H15). I have a eGPU RX580 powering a 5k monitor.
When I disconnect the laptop using the software dismount I am then unable to reconnect to the laptop to the eGPU. I can only re-connect if I reboot the laptop.
Also now I'm finding that when I do re-connect my laptop and it fails to connect the laptop will sometimes crash.
I have looked online and have downloaded the Firmware update from December 2019. I have then disabled the safe boot on the Mac. However, I've never been prompted to apply the firmware update. So unsure if the firmware has applied.
I don't seem to be able to find a way to see what the firmware version the eGPU is.
Can someone help please on how I return to the happy place of being able to reconnect the eGPU with having to restart my laptop?
Thanks,
Paul.
