BlackMagic 4k Decklink -causing image retention / burn in

I am running Autodesk Flame on 2 Asus Pro-art monitors and am using the BM 4k Decklink card for my broadcast/client output signal. The other monitor is connected via DisplayPort cable direct from my Quadro 5000 card.
I am getting a burn in/image retention issue from the software widgets as I work. As well as I am seeing some degradation in picture on motion (similar to artifacting... you can not see it on pause, but you do on live playback).

I have already isoalted this problem to the card by trying to switch monitors, and HDMI cables... but the problem persists.

Could this be a color space issue?
when working/comping in flame the color space is in SRGB.. could this be adding to the problem?

I am stumped.. and this is not acceptable for my clients.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Dan

my system specs:

threadripper 2950x 16 core
128 MB ram
Quadro RTX 5000
Linux 7.6
config: DKU version 15.2.0-1

When you say image retention, are you referring to the image staying on the monitor after to leave or terminate the application? If so, yes I have experience the same even with Resolve - particularly when the application just abnormally terminate or crashes.

Ellory, does this cause physical damage to the monitors, e.g. is it permanent?

Yes. This. Image retention/burn in picture is exactly what you mention.
Basically, there are specific elements that burn in for me..mainly the widgets/nodes and their text titles (widgets are the tools in flame). If my screen sits on one for about 3 or so minutes then it starts to burn into the monitor. I then have to loop Snow for a few minutes to clean it up. I have isolated this to the Decklink card itself and am very disapointed.

No. When you power cycle the monitor the screen is refreshed and the image goes away. In my case, it only happens when Resolve terminate abnormally - which is very infrequent and less with latest version of DR.

Well, that's a relief! And thanks for adding that bit about DR not crashing often. Just watched a DR video where the guy if freakish about saving and coming from Vegas, which never crashes, I was more than a bit concerned.

When a GA version of Resolve crashes, I believe 98% of the time is due to inadequate system resources and folks just try to push Resolve or just plain user error. There's that 2% I will attribute to bugs but BMD is pretty good at fixing them in the next update. I say GA version because if you're using a beta version, then the obvious is there.

At one point, we also used Adobe Premier Pro and I kid you not, I've seen it crashed more times than I did see it happen on Resolve Studio.

The decklink doesn’t create the image, it just passes what is sent to it, so I’m unsure how it’s the issue.

The only thing I can tell you is that it only happens to the output monitor that is connected to the decklink. It never happens to the 2 other monitors that are used for the Resolve UI. For example, if Resolve crashes, both monitors hosting the Resolve UI will show DR terminating, but the output monitor connected to the decklink will retain the last image that was being played back by Resolve. So I am guessing here that decklink does not clear the monitor in the event of a crash.
