Funny all my boards are not even on the list. Intensity Pro works with Almost all Gigabyte and ASUS Motherboards from P5K to x79 and 2011. My first was P5K -p35 chipsets, and the popular x58 Asus Rampage and Sabertooth series. Shuttles and the USB 3.0 cards work with nec chipsets which are no more on the Asus Motherboards. One can add an expansion card nec pci-e card to any computer to work with Intensity Shuttle

WOW, only 2 Z87 boards tested and 1 of those I suspect may have issues. I haven't tested the Expert, but Asus' other Thunderbolt board the Deluxe/Dual doesn't work properly with my BM and firewire cards in the 1x slots unless you disable the onboard Bluetooth and Wireless as it's always polling and causes glitches

I am looking to put together a new system which will be able to cope with video pp butter than my current system. Previously I was looking to get a x79 mobo like the Asus P9X79 Pro. Should we now not be looking at that configuration?

Depends on what BM device you want to use with it. If it's a PCI-e card then I'd be very surprised if it didn't work. If it's a USB 3 device then you may need to buy a 3rd party USB 3 card to get full compatibility

It's a bit disappointing how short the list of certified PC's is. We recently moved from HP to Dell because the HP onsite support constantly failed to get things done. Since Decklink doesn't work on Dell Optiplex 7010, we seem to need to turn clock's back to 90's and build our own PC's. That really isn't the desired way in a company that has tens of production PC's.

I am planning on using the ASUS Z87 Deluxe motherboard with i7 4770 CPU.

Would the Intensity pro work with this board? (I would be looking at putting in four boards)

If you are wanting to install 4 boards then I would probably suggest getting an x79 board with an Ivybridge-E as it has more bus bandwidth to cope with multiple cards as you are probably going to need to add in a Graphics card and possibly a RAID card if you intend to do any uncompressed capturing and any serious editing

Ridiculous state of affairs to have such a limited number of motherboards tested. They should improve the code of the drivers rather than trying a "get out" with the excuse of motherboard not tested.

Wow! I've just bought a Windows Pro 3500 series.
A Mini Recorder card does work but i cannot get the Decklink Studio to work…
The card itself is ok cause when i put it in a MacPro it works.
It would be awful if it means my motherboard is not compatible...

unfortunately we had no luck with ASRock Z87 Extreme4 and 2 intesity pro cards on Windows (having BSOD)

first tried Gigabyte Z87 board and after having many BSOD at different configurations decided to try something from that list but...

it could be compatibility problems between software (panopto remote recorder) and BM drivers although seems that it works fine with one card only

The funny things is that motherboards that had been declared as 'non-compatible' by Blackmagic DO work with the Intensity Pro. You only have to disable the powerscheme for the PCIexpress and then the card works flawlessly with the Intel DH67CL board. - But, BM won't tell you that.

Running with an Intensity Pro in a SuperMicro X10SLQ mother board, Intel i5, and Gskill memory. Using the onboad graphics card. Was slot specific, make sure the current Intel chipset drivers are installed.

Application - LiveStream Encoder with a Panasonic HC-V720. Will stream Variable bit-rate HD, Medium, and Mobile using 70% CPU.

It's really an awesome announcement as well as product. I will try this as soon as possible.

I have a rampage 4 extreme and the blackmagic mini recorder doesn't work, and are not detected on the blackmagic media express and others softwares.

Please do you have any ideas to make it work ?

I have two intensity pro and they work. I change the pci express slot to see, I update with the latest drivers the 9.8 on the site and 9.9 on the cd.

Which slots do you have the cards in?

I tried the three at one time, after just two but nothing.

I tried to pu in the bios pci e in generation 2 mode (my reseller advised me that) but nothing.

I also contacted blackmagic europe, but they didn't know, they said they will send me a mail to check, but I didn't receive it..

Did you try it in different slots? Try putting it in the 1x slot

So when you have the card installed (with the other 2 cards removed) does it show in device manager as either an 'Unknown multimedia device' or as 3 BM devices under 'Sound Video & game controllers'? If it doesn't show under either of those no matter which slot you put it in then I'd say the card was faulty

Sounds more like you have a faulty card, it should at least be seen even if it doesn't work properly, although it's usually better to put them in a 1x slot

Your motherboard doesn't have USB 3 so you would have to buy a 3rd party USB 3 card

It probably won't work. BM don't test AMD chipsets, you could try buying a Renesas/NEC USB 3 card with the earlier NEC controller and adding that into the system and connect the Shuttle through that, but the only way you'll find out is to try it

This is more of an informative post, but I just wanted to post it in case someone needed to reference it.

Blackmagic intensity extreme - HDMI Input for blackmagic pocket cinema camera
Blackmagic ultra studio mini recorder - SDI input for blackmagic cinema camera 2.5k

Streaming software/switcher - Wirecast

I was able to run and switch between these two inputs and stream them as well on the same computer.

I have a Problem with a brand new purchased BM Mini Recorder. System is a Core i7-2600k on a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (v. 1.0) Mainboard which is in the Compatiblity List. No Chance to run the Mini Recorder on this System. Any PCI-E Slot fails. Changing the PCI-E Gen-Type in BIOS to Gen 1, Gen 2 or Gen 3 has also no Effect.

The same on a Asrock H81M-DGS (i5-4460, 6GB RAM, Nvidia GTX560Ti) ... the Mini Recorder was not detected on both Systems and any PCI-E Slot. But i think the Card has a simple Malfunction, i will send back and i hope the next Card will run ...

Funnily an older Decklink SDI (without 4k ability) runs fine on both Systems ...

Next Problem is also a brand new purchased BMD Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 4k (with latest 4.0.3 Firmware) ... no Chance to get a 720p50 Signal from BM UpDownCross ... the SDI Signal doesnt lock on Output Connector to the Decklink SDI. Funnily the older BM Mini Converter SDI to HDMI (without 4k!) runs fine and give a perfect Signal on the Output Connector ...

I am not amused BMD !!
