Do M1 Macs connect to Broadcast Monitor for Color Grading?

Hi all,

So there are monitor limitations with M1 Macs.

On MacMini M1 two monitors may be connected.
On MacBookPro M1 or MacBookAir M1 apart from the laptops own screen only one monitor can be added.

My question is can a broadcast monitor (ex FSI) be added to an M1 Mac via Blackmagic’s UltraStudio series?

Why would - and would - BlackMagicDesign have interest in the new M1 Macs if this is the case.

Anyone any experience with this?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge in advance. :-)

John

The answer is 'yes': an external monitor may be connected to a Mac with M1 chip via Desktop Video and UltraStudio. Blackmagic recently published firmware updates for Apple silicon which you can find in the support page of their website. Not sure why BMD would not have an interest in updating their devices to be compatible with Apple products, if that was your question.

Thank you JonPais for both of your posts in reply.
A relief that I will be able to see real colours! :-)
