Could I use a BMCC with my iMAC?

I am totally intrigued by the BlackMagic cameras and am willing to try to use one. Will one work with what I have? I just bought a 3 TB Thunderbolt HD and have one more slot available. Here is what my system is:

Besides a camera and lens, what will I need? Yea, money...
