blackmagic eGPU

PostSat Jan 09, 2021 3:51 pm

Hi, just bought a new Apple Blackmagic egpo and as soon as i connect it to my iMac 2019, after two minutes the vent start taking of like a airplane really. And they won't stop anymore. I have read that if you connect after you started your iMac the problem isn't there, but does anyone know if there is a solution for this matter, otherwise I have to send the blackmagic back, it is weird. Anyone has a solution?

Is this the first one with the 580 or the so-called Pro? The 580 version should be very silent and yours might have a bad fan.
if it's the Pro, send it back if you still can. It's overpriced and can't be upgraded.
I use an eGFX Breakaway Box by Sonnet and it's very silent, reliable and upgradeable.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
