Hi all,
We've recently just got our hands on the EOS R6 and are having a bit of trouble with playback in DaVinci.
Our general process when setting up a project is to generate optimized media for all cameras (including Canon C100, 1SX mii, 5DIV and sometimes a 6D mii and GoPro). Our optimized media settings are the same for all cameras and are as follows:
Optimized media resolution: Half
Optimized proxy resolution: ProRes 422 Proxy
Render cache format: ProRes 422 Proxy
However, after this ht eR6's playback is horrific. It's choppy, laggy, incredibly slow to load (about 5-10 minutes of loading time each time I open the project) and I can't even scrub through the files. So much so that it's affecting the overall speed of the project and the playback of the other cameras.
My question is, what are the best settings for optimized media to streamline the playback and editing for the R6?
Out camera metadata is:
29.97fps
4K
Canon CLog
Our computers are all Apple Mac pro's (2017). I can post specific spec details as requested.
