Ultrastudio Mini Monitor Mini Mac M1 not recognised

PostSun Feb 21, 2021 3:44 pm

Hi,

I recently purchased a Mac mini M1. I already had the Ultrastudio Mini monitor that I used to connect to Late 2015 MacBook pro via Thunderbolt 2.

I tried to connect it via a Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adaptor to my M1 Mini Mac. The light came on but Desktop Video Setup says "No Desktop Video Device Detected".

Any suggestions?

I hope this doesn't mean I have to purchase the Ultrastudio 3G :?

I think it was discussed, so use search. If I'm correct those TB adapters won't work on M1 with BM products atm.

Yes, you need a new device. The older UltraStudio TB2 devices are not listed as compatible with M1.

Did the 3G work for you?

I'm going from PC with three monitors to Mac Mini. It looks like I can get two monitors natively, but I'm hoping that the Ultrastudio Monitor 3G will let me keep my 3rd monitor as a client monitor.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600
