Ultrastudio Monitor 3G and Calibration

Hi, properly a basic question,

I have a Mac Mini M1, ultrastudio monitor 3G, x-rite i1 display pro calibrator and HP Dreamcolor display.

Now my question is the HP dreamcolor display is software calibrated as opposed to hardware calibrated so when I’m using it via HDMI straight to the Mac it uses my saved profiles in color sync. So when I’m using Davinci resolve and outputting through my ultrastudio 3G monitor I take it the monitor is no longer using color sync profiles right? So does that mean I’m no longer working in a calibrated environment?

Can someone please help? I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance

AFAIK the Dreamcolor can be hardware calibrated, which would be needed for using it with the Ultrastudio. Yes, it's circumventing ColorSync, which is the whole purpose of it.
Alternatively, you can use this process with any decent monitor: tinyurl.com/y9omm8dm

Hi Darren,
I have a question that is totally unrelated to yours: does your Ultrastudio Monitor 3G work on your M1 Mac Mini? I have both and can't get the UltraStudio working.
