Hi:
There have been some posts on this in the past, but some of them are dated. Things are changing so fast. Can you recommend a graphics card to edit video on (I will shoot BRAW on Ursas and the 6k).
I have an i9 Intel chip, with loads of RAM, but i know Resolve likes to be feed video card memory.
I don't want to break the bank. Hopefully under $400?
I am happy to do most of my editing Proxy files....

I'm a dinosaur. Just now noticing that almost all the popular GPUs are out of stock. I bought a rock-bottom cheap one just so I can use my monitors. In the meantime, I hope to get some advice on a bang-for-the-buck GPU that will work well with editing 8k. etc.

Unless you are ready to spend $1700US or more, you’ll be hard pressed to find a decent gpu that would do what you are looking for. You can try the used market and might be able to find an older 1080ti or 2080 but those too are priced high because of the shortage. In fact, for that much money I am looking into what Apple silicon will be coming out this week.

I'm hoping for Apple too. Even my old Radeon 580 has climbed in price more than any stocks I own.

It's unfortunate there were no news about the MBP silicon and other related apple silicon computers this time. Maybe next time.

Rumors about the upcoming MBP silicon is that on the high/pro end, it will have an M1X cheap with a 10 core CPU, a 32 or 64 core GPU, and up to 64Gb of memory. The Mac Mini will likely have the same on the high end configuration which is to follow. It will probably be announced (or launched) by October this year with a price starting at $1800 for a 16Gb RAM/512Gb Storage. Well if these rumors hits closely to the final mark, this could be a saving grace from the 3080Ti or 3090 which is still not available/not in stock to date and cost more than $2000 if you can get your hands on it. And hopefully will be pretty efficient for a Resolve 17 NLE/Grading station. TBS.
