Dual Monitors with BM eGPU?

PostSun Sep 19, 2021 10:26 pm

I would like to add a second monitor to my system.

Do I need to run monitor 2 through the computer and my main monitor through the eGPU? Is there a way to run BOTH monitors from the eGPU?

It's an older (but very functional) apple display with the mini display port, so I will need a USB-C adapter. However, I only see one available USB-C port on the BM, minus the one used to connect the computer to the eGPU itself.

Advice and insight appreciated...

Use the HDMI output on the eGPU with an adapter for the second monitor.

I don't think I have ever seen an adapter that is HDMI to Apple Display Port. I'll have to research further.

It's a Mini Display port (they are not specific to Apple). You need an active adapter to go from HDMI to Display Port. Here's one: https://www.startech.com/en-us/audio-video-products/hd2mdpmm1m
