Blackmagic Video Assist and Sony α Series

PostSat Oct 09, 2021 5:29 pm

Hello.
I bought a Blackmagic Video Assist 7 ”12G HDR and shot it with a Sony α7Ⅲ.

I used S-log3 and S-Gamtus.Cine to set the camera, but the color of the file recorded with Video Assist does not return.

Does Video Assist not apply color profile and gamma?

Video editing uses RMC on DaVinci Resolve 17 and not Lut.

Do you know anyone?

I'm not sure the camera can output log over HDMI.

Thank you very much.
If you think about it carefully, you can't output log because α7Ⅲ doesn't correspond to 10bit.
Thank you for α7sⅢ. I will refer to it.

Well, you can output log in 8 bit with some cameras, but you shouldn’t use it.
It falls apart in grading.
The A7 S III is very expensive. What about a Canon R6? It’s usable with external recording.

Thank you very much.

As I often take pictures at night, I thought it would be nice if I could use Log.

For now, I think HLG + REC 2020 is the best A7iii, but the grading in the dark is weak.
I like Sony, so I am considering recording Prores on FX3 or A7Siii.

Actually, I'd like to play BRAW.

Thank you for your advice :)
