UltraStudio 3D, MacBook Pro, macOS Big Sur

The Desktop Video Setup application is not finding my UltraStudio 3D, and therefore it's also not found in Davinci Resolve.

Has that expensive and still fully operational interface now resigned to the WEEE recycling bin?

My UltraStudio 3D is still discovered by the Mac - so it seems to me that it can only the drivers from BlackMagic which are turning the device into an expensive landfill item. I'm really disappointed with BlackMagicDesign if you have dropped support. Exceptionally un-environmentally friendly, and costly to me!

I wonder if this problem is related to the other issue people are having with the UltraStudio mini monitor.

I tried installing Desktop Video driver 12.1 and following the workarounds posted there, but that workaround does not even run correctly.

Code: Select all
$ sudo kextutil /Library/Extensions/BlackmagicIO.kext
Password:
Executing: /usr/bin/kmutil load --bundle-path /Library/Extensions/BlackmagicIO.kext
Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=31 "Error occurred while building a collection: in '/Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions/spl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/KernelExports.kext/KernelExports' missing __TEXT segment" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Error occurred while building a collection: in '/Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions/spl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/KernelExports.kext/KernelExports' missing __TEXT segment}

I've also tried the Desktop Video driver 12.2. Nothing stops my UltraStudio 3D from looking like an expensive brick.

I have the exact same behaviour and can't really see what's going on.
This is since the latest BigSur update (11.6.1 - 20G224) only.
Whatever I do - nothing get's the card back alive.

I was wondering if you have any news on this? After upgrading to Big Sur my UltraStudio 3D stopped working. I was hoping for a driver update and installed the latest, but that didn't work.
