I currently have a 10 bpc hdr monitor, do I need to upgrade to a 12 bpc monitor to properly colour correct footage recorded in 12 bit braw? If I do does anyone have any recommendations for monitors under £1000? Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are no 12bit monitors out there :)
Source bit depth and your monitoring bit depth is independent. 10bit is all what you need atm. of monitoring.
You don't have to do anything- your source can be 8, 12 or 16 etc. bit. You work and monitor as normal.

And there's nothing you can get at your budget range.

Jonny Elwyn has a few affordable displays mentioned on his site:

Basically "affordable" and "12-bit" can't go in the same sentence. Even doing 10-bit well is a challenge. You can get by with (say) an LG OLED CX/C1, but even those monitors have issues with near-black levels.
