Ultra Studio Mini Monitor not recognised!

PostTue Jan 25, 2022 10:35 pm

Hi
I have an urgent query!

I just updated my Mac OS to Monterey 12.1, and the BM desktop software to 12.2.2 and My Mini Monitor (Thunderbolt) is not being recognised anymore.

Within System report the computer see's that its connected, but it doesn't show up in BM Desktop Video Setup, and doesn't show up in Avid, Premiere, Resolve etc.

Can you help me? I'm in real trouble if i can't fix this!
Thankyou.

Did it work with Catalina? Just a shot in the dark, but I have the M1 and the older Mini Monitor will never work with it, it's EOL.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Same problem here. Ultrastudio Mini Monitor 3G is not recognised on Mac mini M1, Monterey.

I've rebooted the Mac mini in order to lower the permissions in start-up mode, and installed BM drivers 12.2.2 again (after uninstalling of course), no effect.

Also, the Mini Monitor 3G is not visible in system report on the Mac.

Please help Blackmagic!!

Ok, so I've downgraded Monterey to Big Sur... Again, lowered permissions, and installed Desktop Video 12.2
But: no effect! Still no connection!!

Not sure how helpful it is Jan, but I'm having no problems here, with an M1 laptop, Big Sur (11.2.1) and Desktop Video 12.0... it's not an old OS/driver combination for any specific reason, I'm just using the desktop PC more often so haven't upgraded the laptop in a while.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."

I also tested the Mini Monitor 3G on my MacBook Air M1, same result, no connection..
I'm starting to think this Mini Monitor 3G is faulty. Anyone any experience with faulty Mini Monitors?

Neither do I have a problem here under Monterey 12.1 and Desktop Video 12.2.1 with an UltraStudio Monitor 3G.

Ok, I'm pretty ashamed, but the fault was mine..
I used USB-C cables instead of a thunderbolt cable.. very stupid.. I'm sorry to have wasted your time guys!
Now with a thunderbolt cable the Mini Monitor 3G is up and running!
